‘There is no such thing as “away”.
When we throw anything away, it must go somewhere.’
– Annie Leonard
When we discard something, it has to go somewhere. Not often do we consider that thought as something of value. So when we realised that at our workshop, we had large quantities of small pieces of wood, we thought of combining it together and making something functional yet distinctive.
We glued all wood together, including light and dark, short and long pieces.
Once held together, we grinded them to perfect squares with a provision to hold a switch that was reminiscent of something we remembered seeing at our grandparents’ house when we were young.
What resulted in this exercise were beautiful lamps, each different from one another.
